Parole hearing in Seattle Massacre; Tony Ng has served 30 years on robbery convictions

ABERDEEN, Wash. – One of the three men convicted in the 1983 massacre of 13 people at a Seattle gambling club went before a parole board Tuesday in a prison at Aberdeen to seek his release after 30 years in prison.

Wai Chiu “Tony” Ng (eng) was convicted of robbery and assault for his role in the shooting at the Wah Mee club.

KING reports (http://is.gd/MOQ3af) he struggled to talk about the crime and explain his sorrow to the Indeterminate Sentence Review Board meeting at Stafford Creek Corrections Center.

He also said if he’s released he expects to be deported to Hong Kong, where his father is sick.

The board will make its decision in late September.

Two other men convicted of aggravated murder in the shooting are serving life sentences without parole.
