High winds and multiple outages in Grays Harbor County

ABERDEEN, Wash. - The Grays Harbor PUD has restored power to portions of the Tokeland and Moclips/Tahola areas. Crews are responding to scattered outages across the county as well as large outages.  Power has been restored to all customers in Central Park as well.

Currently crews are responding to outages in the following locations:

There continues to be approximately 500 customers without power in the Moclips/Taholah area. 

There are still scattered outages in the county including Newskah Road, locations in Montesano, and the Elma airport.

High Wind Warning Saturday for South Washington Coast

South Bend, Washington – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland has issued a high wind warning for the South Washington Coast in effect from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. South winds will increase late tonight to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 65 mph becoming northwest on Saturday afternoon.

 

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:

 

A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

Strong weather expected Sunday into Monday on the harbor

MONTESANO, Wash. - The Grays  Harbor county Emergency Management Agency is warning citizens to be prepared for very severe weather, expected to impact Grays Harbor this afternoon through Monday morning

1)  HEAVY RAINFALL is expected this afternoon and evening. Heavy downpours expected.
 
2)  AWIND ADVISORY has been issued for areas East of Aberdeen in Grays Harbor County from 6pm Sunday through Monday morning.  Strong South winds are forecast to be20-35mph sustained with gusts to 55mph.
 
3)  AHIGH WIND WARNING is in effect from 3pm today through 5am Monday  for all coastal areas in Grays Harbor County including Aberdeen and Hoquiam.Strongsustained South winds are expected to be 20-40 mph with gusts to 60 mph, possibly reaching 65mph along the beaches.The forecast time of greatest impact will be between 5-10pm with another burst around midnight
