A 27 year old Taholah man was airlifted to Harborview yesterday after his motorcycle collided with a school bus. The Washington State Patrol tells us he was riding with no helmet on the shoulder of Ocean View Drive North around 4:30 Monday when he lost control and ran into the school bus, which was stopped at an intersection. No injuries were reported from the bus driver, or the 15 children aboard at the time. The 27 year old was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. The State Patrol reports the accident is under investigation.
SEATTLE, Wash. – The U.S. Coast Guard medevac’d a 15-year old hiker after she fell from a 15-foot cliff north of the Hoh River in Olympic National Park, in Clallam, Wash., Monday.
The hiker was reported in stable condition.
At approximately 10:46 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound in Seattle received a request from National Park Service employees to rescue a fallen hiker.
The hiker, an Idaho native visiting the park on a school field trip, had reportedly fallen head-first onto a beach and was in-and out-of consciousness.
The duty flight surgeon from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., spoke with National Park Service rangers and agreed to perform the medevac.
A HH-65 Dolphin crew arrived on scene and lowered a rescue swimmer. The girl was hoisted aboard the Dolphin at approximately 1:12 p.m. and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
SHELTON, Wash. – On Tuesday, August 27 at about 11:11pm Shelton Police were dispatched to a disturbance in the downtown area of 1st Street and Railroad Avenue. On arrival they found an unconscious adult male who was the apparent victim of an assault. Witnesses indicated that a group of males were reported to have been seen fleeing the area on foot. A K-9 track was conducted, but no suspects were located.
Lieutenant Les Watson with the Shelton police tells us detectives are following up on leads at this time. The information obtained up to this point suggests that the victim and the assailant(s) are familiar with one another.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Mason General Hospital and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. His current condition is listed as critical. Anyone with information that might be useful in the investigation of this incident is asked to call the Shelton Police Department at 360-426-4441.
