Daryl Hall Welcomes Hootie & the Blowfish's Darius Rucker to "Live from Daryl's House"

Credit: Ian JohnsonThe latest guest to drop by Daryl Hall’s TV show Live from Daryl’s House is Darius Rucker, the country music hitmaker who’s best known as the frontman for ’90s superstars Hootie & the Blowfish.

In a special installment of the show, the Hall & Oates frontman travels to Charleston, South Carolina, Darius’ hometown, for a jam session with him in an 1843 Greek revival-style home restored by one of Daryl’s buddies. The two will perform the Hootie & the Blowfish hit “Let Her Cry,” as well as a cover of the Righteous Brothers‘ “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’,” which was also a hit for Hall & Oates in 1980.

In addition, Daryl and Darius will team on the Hall & Oates hit “Do It for Love,” Daryl’s solo tune “Laughing Down Crying” and a number of Darius’ country hits, including his smash “Wagon Wheel.”

All that singing can make a guy hungry, so we’ll also get to see the two singers learning how to shuck oysters for a roast.

Capitol NashvilleDarius Rucker is flying high on the country chart again with his latest hit, “Radio,” but he there’s a good chance no one would have ever heard Darius on the airwaves if his Air Force career had taken off. Darius actually went to Air Force training school while in college, but his plans were grounded when a knee injury made him unable to fly.

Kenny Chesney and Darius Rucker Taking Part in TJ Martell Foundation's Nashville Honors Gala

Sony Music/Blue ChairKenny Chesney and Darius Rucker are set to take part in tributes to music industry executives Mike Dungan and Dale Morris at the T.J. Martell Foundation’s 2014 Nashville Honors Gala. The invitation-only event takes place March 10 at Music City’s new Omni Hotel. The T.J. Martell Foundation raises money for cancer, leukemia and AIDS research.
