Students Plan Walk-out at Grays Harbor College to Stand With Victims of Gun Violence

Some students are planning a walk-out at Grays Harbor College this Wednesday. Organizer Tyson Owen said he’s inviting students to stand with victims of gun violence tomorrow morning. “At 11:15 am we are having a mass walk-out”

Students will meet in the commons area between the HUB and the Gym on the main campus of the college in south Aberdeen at 11:20 Wednesday morning. “We’re going to have a 7-minute moment of silence for the full 7 minutes that the shooter was in Stoneman Douglas High School.”

Grays Harbor College campus security will also provide information on what to do during an active shooter event at the campus in south Aberdeen.

Tyson also invites the public, “It is an open public campus, all the support we can get we would love to have from community members.”

The teen noted that students who are concerned about missing a class may request a “Faith and Conscience” form from the college at the student life center.

The main campus is located atĀ 1620 Edward P. Smith Drive, inĀ Aberdeen.
