The Satsop Business Park plans to ask for proposals for their newly-purchased New Wood facility. – they’ve also sold off some of the old-new-wood crafted by the now shuttered mill. Constructed and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, along with the patents to manufacture a sustainable building product, the Satsop Business Park issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for potential operators of the 255,000 square-foot former NewWood Corporation facility and its manufacturing equipment today.
The RFP asks that potential suitors identify one of three scenarios in which they would utilize the facility including:
· As an operator and manufacturer of the NewWood product, using all of the assets and intellectual property
· As a manufacturer of a different product using some or all of the equipment assets
· As a manufacturer of a different product using none of the equipment assets.
“This is an opportunity, for a capable company to establish a United States manufacturing base by utilizing an existing multi-million dollar facility without the upfront investment required of new construction, thus allowing them to focus on production and sales,” expressed Manager of Business Development, Alissa Shay. “With companies recognizing the value of bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US, the Port believes Satsop Business Park is strategically positioned with the facility, the equipment, the workforce and the access to markets to make our partners successful.”
Satsop Business Park is owned and operated by the Port of Grays Harbor, a rapidly growing international shipping hub on Washington State’s Pacific Coast. Companies located at Satsop Business Park are within Foreign Trade Zone 173 and close to rail, shipping and highway transportation corridors.
