Pacific County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Witnesses to Possible Abduction

Pacific County, WA - On 9-13-09, shortly after 3 p.m., deputies responded to the west end of Chinook for a suspicious call. Witnesses reported seeing a white male assault a white female and drag her in to a wooded area. The male was described as in his early twenties and wearing a white cowboy hat.

The first deputy was on scene within minutes and conducted an initial search of the wooded area. He was not able to locate any persons in the area.



With the assistance of the Washington State Patrol, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Raymond Police Department, the Long Beach Police Department, and the South Bend Police Department, deputies set up containment around the wooded area. Law Enforcement personnel then conducted a search of the wooded area. They did not locate any persons.



The United States Coast Guard assisted deputies by conducting an air search of the wooded area without locating anyone.

The Washington State Patrol assisted by searching the wooded area with a fixed wing aircraft and forward looking infrared (FLIR).



Deputies utilized a K-9 unit from the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office to conduct another ground search of the wooded area. The K-9 did not locate any persons in the area.



Deputies concluded their search efforts at about 7 p.m.
