Hoquiam, WA - Grays Harbor County Deputies and Hoquiam and Aberdeen officers have attempting to locate Harold Glenn Rath, a 31 year old Aberdeen man at arrest him on a warrant that stems from a Kidnapping investigation conducted by the Aberdeen Police Department.

 

On Wednesday August 19, 2009 at Grays Harbor County K-9 Officer Crawford received a tip that Rath was in the trailer park which is located in the 400 block of Queen Avenue, in Hoquiam.

Crawford and another deputy went to the scene at about 11:30 am and received additional information that Rath was possibly in a specific trailer. The deputies went to that trailer and spoke with the resident and inquired as to who was also in the trailer. The man told the deputies that his girlfriend was inside. The deputies then specifically asked if Rath was in the trailer and received a positive response. The resident and his girlfriend left the trailer and the deputies attempted to call to the man through the open door but got no response. They also sprayed a small amount of pepper spray into the trailer but the man in the trailer did not respond to the spray either. There was no telephone in the trailer for officers to use in an attempt to speak to Rath. 

Subsequently Hoquiam and Aberdeen police were notified Rath was hold up in the trailer and not responding to the order of deputies to come out. Officers from all three agencies secured the immediate area around the trailer park and had some residents leave their trailers and the area around the trailer park.

 

After about 1.5 hours Grays Harbor K-9 Officer Crawford, his dog Gizmo and members of the Grays Harbor and Aberdeen SWAT teams went to the door of the trailer. Crawford called out a warning that the K-9 would be sent into the trailer if the man did not come out. Once again there was no response from Rath. Gizmo entered the trailer followed by his handler Deputy Crawford and the SAWT officers. Rath was located hiding in a storage area under the bed. When officers could see him and ordered him to come out he still did not respond. Rath was bitten by the K-9 during the process of the officers arresting him. 

 

Rath was treated at the scene by paramedics of the Hoquiam Fire Department and transported to Community Hospital. After his release from the hospital he will be booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on the Kidnapping warrant.

 

At the time of this release I do not have the information on the nature of the injuries sustained by Rath.
