 Private First Class Aaron Fairbairn returned home Tuesday afternoon. Supporters lined Simpson Avenue from Hoquiam to Aberdeen, waving flags and showing their support. Fairbairn's body was taken to Harrison Family Mortuary, after arriving by plane at Bowerman Airfield. Fairbairn will be presented for a public viewing at 9am on Saturday at Aberdeen High School, he will be laid to rest later that day with full military honors.

PFC Fairbairn was KIA July 4 at Combat Outpost Zerok, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked the outpost using small arms and indirect fires; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
