In this video released by the Coast Guard, an MH-60 helicopter crew from Group/Air Station Astoria performs a flyover of a privately-owned helicopter which crashed near Ocean Shores, Wash., July 7, 2009. Neither passenger of the helicopter was seriously injured and only a light sheen of fuel was detected on the surface of the water. (U.S. Coast Guard video/Air Station Astoria)
A Good Samaritan recovered the two people aboard the helicopter at approximately 6 a.m. It was reported only the pilot suffered minor injuries. A Coast Guard MH-60 helicopter crew from Group/Air Station Astoria confirmed that a light sheen was spotted but quickly dissipated. The helicopter has been removed from the water, and it was determined there was minimal threat to the environment. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
