ABERDEEN, Wash. - The Executive Director of the United Way of Grays Harbor, Dr. Doreen Cato will be stepping down. The organization announced her resignation will be effective at the end of this month, Cato was hired by the United Way in August of last year, and cited health reasons as the cause for her departure.
"We are very thankful to have had Doreen’s leadership this year. She’s made quite an impact and leaves a lasting impression on the community and the United Way of Grays Harbor," says Carl Jonsson, United Way Personnel Chair.
Doreen has accomplished much during her tenure including; Developing & funding a structured Volunteer Management Program for creating resource capacity for United Way and the community.
Doreen has been instrumental in reinstituting the Campaign Cabinet for recruiting Loaned Executives and Campaign Coordinators for upcoming fundraising campaigns.
“It is with these accomplishments that I leave as my legacy to United Way of Grays Harbor. Thank you for the opportunity to serve United Way and our community.” States Doreen Cato.
The 2012-2013 United Way Campaign raised $362,548, distributed to 20+ partner agencies serving Grays Harbor and Pacific counties, funding programs that help our community.
“We’re very appreciative of Doreen’s contribution to the United Way of Grays Harbor and the community”, says Margaret Carthum, Board President. Margaret continues. “She’s a strong supporter, advocate and volunteer, and we hope to keep her active in a meaningful capacity.”
