Mason County Sheriff Casey Salisbury, during the Mason County Board of Commissioner’s public meeting held in their chambers on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, recognized and awarded several people whose contributions have helped both the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Mason County.
Chief Civil Deputy Jan Alvord presented the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Clerk of the Year to Angel Evans, who went above and beyond her duties as a Sheriff’s Office Civil Clerk. Chief Alvord also recognized a Sheriff’s Office Volunteer, as the Volunteer of the year, but the volunteer did not want to have her name published, nor did she desire to attend the ceremony.
Sheriff Salisbury gave special recognition and awarded Pat Utley with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Citizen of the Year award in appreciation for his support to the Sheriff’s Office and his many contributions of his time and resources
The Sheriff then recognized and presented an award of appreciation and service to Mason County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Maury Jenkins. Chaplain Jenkins is stepping down from the Chaplaincy and was honored for his service. Chaplain Jenkins was not in attendance at the ceremony due to a death in his family. Chaplain George Albertson accepted his award plaque on Maury’s behalf.
Sheriff Salisbury presented a special recognition award of appreciation plaque to Mason General Hospital, for their continual dedication and support for caring for the staff of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. Receiving this award was Dr. Joseph R. Hoffman, M.D., Dr. Dean E. Gushee, M.D., and Chief Operations Officer Eileen Branscome.
The Sheriff ended his presentation with honoring long time Chaplain George Albertson, for his selfless dedication for the many years of service as a Chaplain with both the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. Chaplain Albertson’s selfless service has literally touched hundreds of lives.
