UPDATE: Attempted Robbery Suspect Arrested in Arizona

Aberdeen, WA - Melissa Moore, the suspect in the attempted Robbery at Radio Shack was arrested by the Peoria Police Department on Friday, September 28th in Glendale AZ.

Aberdeen Police Captain John Green tells us prior to the attempted Robbery arrest warrant being issued, Melissa Moore had been arrested by the Peoria PD for shoplifting. Shortly after her release for shoplifting the attempted Robbery arrest warrant was entered into the system which triggered a notified to the Peoria PD as they had recently run her through the national computer system.

Officers from Peoria PD located Melissa Moore at a residence in Glendale AZ and took her into custody. She is currently in the Maricopa County Jail awaiting extradition.

Green said the joint investigation with Hoquiam police developed information that Melissa Moore, at the time of this incident, was in a dating relationship with Jay Gladden who is the suspect in the robbery of an Aberdeen expresso stand, and a Hoquiam bank. An arrest warrant for Robbery is out for Jay Gladden. It is believed that the two were living together and may still be in each others company.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Gladden they are asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department at 533-3180 or the tip line at 538-4450. If the suspect is observed the public is asked not to confront the suspect and to call 911 as soon as it safe to do so.
