Montesano, WA - Within the first month of it's unveiling in Montesano, the Marion J. Bogdanovich Veterans Memorial Wall is full. Mayor Ken Estes said this week "Currently one monument is completely full, the other one will be full in two weeks and it will also be put up, and we've had a request for the third wall to go up."
Estes told his council that response to the memorial wall in Fleet Park has been overwhelming since it's unveiling September 16, Montesano veterans were also invited to submit their names "The strings are, you have to be a veteran, live in the Montesano school district, and your discharge has to be honorable." There's also a $75 engraving fee, for details, contact the VFW post at 249-3631.
Fleet Park is located in Downtown Montesano. It occupies one square block, bordered by Pioneer Avenue on the south, Marcy Street on the north, First Street on the east, and Fleet Street on the west.
