WESTPORT, Wash. - The Westport Winery’s Bordello Blonde won a silver medal at the Washington State Wine Competition held in Yakima, Washington this month. This blend of off-dry Gewurztraminer and Riesling is the most popular white wine of Westport’s thirty-three award-winning creations. According to the tasting notes, like any bordello blonde, this wine “goes with anyone and anything”.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this wine benefits the Aberdeen Museum of History. The label features an original drawing by Kim Roberts which is merged with underwater photography by her husband Blain Roberts, creating the only label they worked on collaboratively. The sculpture commemorating this label in the winery’s public outdoor art display is being carved by Aberdeen Museum curator Dann Sears. An unveiling date has not been determined.

Bordello Blonde is available for tasting daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Westport Winery. The winery’s restaurant is open for lunch during the summer daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dinner is served on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Remember to sample one of the winery’s hand-crafted cocktails when you visit for lunch or dinner. And check out the amazing bakery with everything homemade from scratch including cakes, cookies, pies and bars. There is something for everyone at Westport Winery.

Westport Winery and Vineyards By-the-Sea with its unique outdoor sculptures, display gardens, and grape maze is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and the Westport ‘Y’. For more information or reservations call Westport Winery at 360-648-2224.
