Hoquiam, WA - Saturday March 17th at the City of Roses Ballroom Dance Classic, in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Mark Van Hemert, dancing with his instructor and dance partner, Arlene Hoiland, took 5 first place awards with grades in the high 90's. They danced FoxTrot, Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha and a Swing medley. Van Hemert also placed 2nd in a group flight. At the end of the evening, Mark was presented with a trophy for the most solo exhibitions out of about 400 contestants. Van Hemert and Hoiland were representing the Dance Club of Grays Harbor.
