Hoquiam, WA - Police say charges could be filed pending the blood test of a Hoquiam man involved in a head on collision that sent five to the hospital on Saturday. Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers tells us two wreckers had to pull from opposite ends to get the 1 ton Chevy truck and the Buick Century 4-door apart. The 32 year old woman driving the Buick had to be cut out of the car, a 31 year old and two children ages 4 and 1 were all transported to Community Hospital with various injuries. Myers said the truck driver smelled of intoxicants, and was also transported to Community, where a legal blood draw was taken for submission to the state crime lab.

The scene was measured using the department's "total station" survey measuring device. It took two tow trucks, pulling from both ends of the vehicles, to seperate the car from the truck as they were stuck together from the force of the collision. See photo.
