Aberdeen, WA – Grays Harbor Community Hospital has announced the receipt of a donation of over $172,000.00. The gift is from the estate of the late Ed and June Maxey. The gift was presented to the Hospital Foundation by John and Diane Skog, Mr Skog is the executor of the estate and nephew to Mr. and Mrs. Maxey.
“It has been an interesting process working through my aunt and uncle’s estate and the history of their lives here on the Harbor. My aunt and uncle enjoyed living in and serving this community; my uncle worked in banking for years and my aunt stayed at home. I know they would be thrilled that their estate could help people in the community they loved,” reported their nephew, John Skog.
The Grays Harbor Community Hospital Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the hospital’s programs, services and capital needs through advocacy and fundraising. The Hospital Foundation is currently raising money for the the “Warm Welcome” campaign to renovate the main campus lobby, but in the past has also raised money for new Critical Care Unit beds, new flat screen TVs for patient rooms and much more.
“Donations of this size are rare, but greatly appreciated. Every donation that comes into our foundation is utilized in support of our hospital to ensure that we have the best equipment and facility to support our world class medical staff. I don’t think most people in our community understand how important their support is to the success of our hospital,” according to Natasha Martens, Chairman of the Hospital Foundation Board.
Private donations are placed in the Foundation's Greatest Needs Fund. This fund supports the most urgent needs of the hospital. For more information on supporting Grays Harbor Community Hospital, please call 360-537-6197.
