Aberdeen, WA - Demonstrating competency in an alternate language could get you High School credits, School Superintendent Tom Opstad explained to the board at this week's meeting "this is a new policy, looking at giving students who are competent in two languages the ability to receive credit through testing and assessment." Students would be tested on their literacy, and fluency "Depending on where students score, they can receive up to four credits in that language if they're proficient in all areas."
After a second reading, Policy 2409 can be adopted by the board.
