ABERDEEN, Wash. - Council members saw the draft of an ordinance that could raise sales tax to support street maintenance in Aberdeen. City councilman Tim Alstrom urged consideration "I'd ask all of you as council members to go over that. Not so much the point of view of whether you're fo or against it, but if we ultimately do bring this to the voters we want a well written law." The proposed formation of a Transportation Benefit District would allow the city to request voter approval of a sales tax increase. No action was taken on the draft at this week's city council meeting.
