Deep Cuts Become Program Cuts

OLYMPIA, Wash. - With another round of budget cuts ahead for Washington, State agencies are announcing deep cuts that reach every corner of the state. Fish and Wildlife proposals include; closure of Grays Harbor commercial sturgeon and salmon fisheries, suspending the wildlife damage compensation program, and %10 reductions in their payment in leau of property taxes program that pays counties for WDFW lands. Grays Harbor received $7,200 in PILT funds from the department earlier this year.
