Hoquiam, WA - Police are investigating a rash of vehicle prowling incidents on the east side of town. Detective Seargent Shane Khrone tells us of the 8 reports over the weekend, only two of the vehicle were locked. Items stolen included car stereos, i-pods, cameras, knives, and purses. On April 23rd and 24th, 2011, Hoquiam officers were dispatched to at least eight separate vehicle prowl reports, mostly on the east side of town. Among the items taken from the vehicles were car stereos, I-pods, camera, knife, woman’s purses (to include ID, bank cards and contents), make-up, perfume and change. Of the vehicles prowled, two were reportedly locked while the others were unlocked. There were no signs of forced entry to the locked vehicles. As the department pursues a possible suspect, we would like to still remind people to remove any valuables from view and to always lock the vehicle.
