Grays Harbor County commissioners met Tuesday morning and finalized layoffs including Public Services Director Paul Easter, his administrative asssitant Jan Fargo, and Emergency management Director Anne Sullivan. The County commissioners also decided on the complete teardown of the EMS department as we know it, and a reformation of the EMS services under the Grays Harbor County Sherrriff's department. The commissioners also discussed the layoff of two County deputies and one corrections officer, however that decision was not finalized at yesterday's meeting, County Undershierriff Rick Scott said he planned to go back to his union members and the commissioners said that alternative funding may be available to keep those positions. Scott said they did not want to loose officers. County Commissioners agreed to dropping their paid dependant medical benefits, coffee budget, and all medical benefits for one employee from the commissioners office.
Budget Cut Proposals from The County Treasurer's, Planning department, and Superior Court budgets were pushed back by the commisioners, and will be reviewed Friday morning when the commissioners go over the County Road Fund, as well as unfying the proposals from several departments to trim hours of operation.
