Aberdeen – The tall ship Lady Washington will offer a public sail, walk-on tours, and free longboat rides during the 5th Annual Chehalis Watershed Festival Sunday Sept. 26 in Aberdeen. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Morrison Riverfront Park. The Lady Washington’s activities will take place at Aberdeen Landing, 710 E. Heron St., Aberdeen.
Lady Washington will open for walk-on tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crew in period costume will welcome visitors aboard. A $3 donation per person is appreciated.
At 2 p.m., Lady Washington will take guests on a three-hour Adventure Sail in the Chehalis River. The sailing will feature a demonstration of tall ship handling, a sea shanty, and a chance for guests to help sail a real tall ship. Tickets are $55 adults, $45 students/seniors/active military, and $35 children 12 and under. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.historicalseaport.org or call 800-200-5239. Tickets will also be available at the boat.
Crews from the Historical Seaport will also take festival-goers on rides in the longboats Capt. Matt Peasley and Hewitt R. Jackson. Board the boats at Aberdeen Landing near Lady Washington. The rides are free. A donation is appreciated.
Lady Washington will also open for tours on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and she will offer an Adventure Sail on the Chehalis River at 2 p.m.
