Coast Guard medically evacuates injured logger

  SEATTLE - The Coast Guard medically evacuated an injured male logger near Willipa Bay, Wash., Wednesday.

Coast Guard Group Astoria, Ore., received a call, at approximately 12:30 p.m., from the Raymond Fire Department in Raymond, Wash., requesting helicopter support for a man who was injured in a logging accident. Life Flight could not perform the flight due to heavy inclement weather.


Air Station Astoria launched an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to assist. The man was taken to Bowerman Field in Hoquiam, Wash., where emergency medical personnel from the local area were waiting to transport him to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash.
