Seven DUI Arrests in Grays Harbor and Mason County over the Fourth

Troopers assigned to detachments located throughout District 8 kept busy this holiday weekend, arresting 37 drivers for DUI.


Seven of those arrests were the result of collisions, while four others were the result of cell callers reporting a driver who caught their attention as possibly being impaired.



  • Kitsap (Bremerton Detachments) – 14 arrests

    • 2 from cell callers

    • 2 from non-injury collisions



  • Mason – (Shelton Detachment) - 7 arrests

    • 1 from a non-injury collision



  • Grays Harbor (Hoquiam Detachments) – 7 arrests

    • 1 from a non-injury collision



  • Pacific and Wahkiakum County (Naselle Detachment) – 3 arrests

    • 1 from a cell caller

    • 1 from a minor injury collision



  • Clallam and Jefferson Counties (Port Angeles Detachments) – 6 arrests

    • 1 from a cell caller

    • 2 from injury collisions




The Washington State Patrol encourages motorists observing erratic or unsafe driving not to engage the other motorist, but report the incident instead using their cellular phones by dialing 9-1-1. From there, the caller will be asked to provide a location, direction of travel, and a description of the vehicle.
