This Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway located at the Fairgrounds in Elma, will be 93.7 Bigfoot Country Night. Four ASA Track Member divisions will be in competition including, the Whitney’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds, Triple X Ford Focus Midgets, and Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks.
Sprint car points leader Seth Bergman will be gunning for his fourth win of the year in the Whitney’s Auto Group Sprint Car division. Bergman leads Enumclaw’s Henry Van Dam by 52 points 582 to 530, Shelton’s Jay Cole moved into third position in the standings with 496 points, Raymond’s Glenn Borden Jr the 2009 Champion sits 1 point back with 495 points. Tacoma’s Shawn Rice holds down the fifth position with 468 points.
Three former Shipwreck Beads Modified Champions hold down the top three positions in the 2010 Championship standings. Four time Champion Scott Miller from Shelton, continues to lead the division with 562 points, 25 more than Montesano’s Josh Muller the 2009 champion who has 537 points. 2001 Modified Champion Craig Moore from Seabeck holds down third position with 486 points. 2006 Hobby Stock Champion Jim Oien Jr. from McCleary has moved into the fourth spot with 476 points, five more than Shelton’s Del Schnitzer, a former motorcycle champion who has 471 points.
Seth Hespe the 2009 Triple X Ford Focus Midget Champion continues to the lead the Triple X Championship points battle by a slim 3 points 440 to 437over Springfield, Oregon’s Alison Journey. Lake Steven’s rookie driver Dustin O’Brien holds down third with 419 points, closely followed by fellow rookie Reese Goetz from Snohomish with 402 points, Goetz won the last event and will be looking to make it two wins in a row. Poulsbo’s Garrett Johnson rounds out the top five with 392.
In the Cut Rate Hobby Stock division Aberdeen’s Zack Simpson continues to lead the point standings with 564, Eddie Blood from Olympia jumped up to second spot and currently has 503 points. Aberdeen’s Jack Parshall Jr. holds a one point lead 499 to 498 over Derek Junell from Gig Harbor, Cosmopolis driver Tom Sweatman rounds out the top five with 479 points.
The front gates open at 4:30 pm, qualifying at 5:30 and racing to start around 6:30.
