The Hoquiam Police Department reports a Pepsi vending machine was stolen from near an apartment complex office in the 1000 block of Lincoln street. Witnesses said a smaller Mazda pickup backed up and two unidentified suspects loaded the vending machine into the bed, before the pickup sped through the landscaping and around the corner. Officers found the Pepsi machine in the middle of the road less than a block away, along with several latent fingerprints which where sent to the State Crime Lab.

The owner of the vending machine, Harbor Pacific Bottling, has not yet provided an estimate for the damage to the machine. The pickup used in the theft may have been stolen from a residence in the 500 Block of Beacon Hill Drive, officers are investigating the two incidents as possibly related.
