Hoquiam, WA - 1 o'clock Thursday morning a 20 year old female, in the 700 block of 6th Street awoke to the sound of breaking glass. She discovered that a rock had been thrown though her bedroom window. The victim called the E-911 communications center to report the incident.

When officers arrived on the scene the victim immediately told officers that she suspected her ex-boyfriend may have thrown the rock because the victim had recently broken up with him. She told officers that she had ended the four month relationship with the 23 year old Hoquiam man who had been harassing her off and on since she ended the relationship.

While at the scene and officer discovered that the victim’s 1999 Saturn which had been parked in the driveway was covered with black spray paint. The words “slut” and “whore” were sprayed on the hood and trunk of the car. The back window of the vehicle had been broken out and all four tires had also been punctured.

Officers determined the address of the suspect and went to a home in the 300 block of Karr Avenue to speak with the possible suspect. When the first officer arrived at that location he saw a red car pull up in front of the home and a male and a female get out of the car. The man was identified as the suspect. The officer noted that the suspect had black spray paint on his hands, arms and on his clothing. The man also had a fresh cut on his right hand.

The 23 year old female, who accompanied the suspect, told officers that she, the suspect’s 21 year old sister and the suspect did go to the area of the victim’s residence and that they parked around the corner form the house. She added that she and the sister stayed in the car as the suspect left the car carrying a hammer, a knife and spray paint. The witness told officers that as they sat in the car they could hear glass breaking and in a short amount of time the suspect ran back to the car. They drove by the victim’s home to look at the damage and then drove back to the suspect’s home.

After interviewing the witnesses the suspect was arrested and booked into the Grays Harbor County jail on a charge of Malicious Mischief 2nd Degree.

The cost to repair the damage is not known at this time.
