Every year U.S. News and World Report issues a list of the nation's "Best High Schools". The list is developed based on criteria that show measurable success in educating all students; a total of 21,786 high schools were analyzed. The 2010 list includes Raymond Junior/Senior High, one of only 51 schools in the state to be so recognized.

Specifically, Raymond High was recognized for performing better than expected on the state tests based on statistical projections. The ranking includes test scores for the student body as a whole, as well as poverty and disadvantaged students, all of which were higher than the state average.
