Aberdeen Police Arrest Prostitutes in Downtown Aberdeen

 Aberdeen, WA - Beginning Friday night, the Aberdeen Police Department conducted a sting operation in the downtown area, arresting a total of five females for prostitution, and arresting four males for solicitation. Police Captain John Green tells us the department enlisted the help of Seattle Police Department's VICE unit, and made the first two arrests within ten minutes of each other. One of the females was held on a felony warrant, and booked into the County jail, one of the males "Johns" had an immigration hold, the remaining seven arrested were released after being booked.

Hoquiam Public Hearing on Flouridation of City Water October 25th

Hoquiam, WA - The City of Hoquiam will hold a public meeting October 25th to consider the Flouridation of city water, during last night's regular public comment period Hoquiam resident Dave Forbes told the council "I have some real problems with it, for one thing you have no adverse reports on flouridation, you have all the foo foo good stuff"

The City plans to have Medical Dr John Bausher (Bow-Sher) talk at the public meeting, as well as Joan Brewster with the Grays Harbor Public Health Department.

Aberdeen Police Investigate Tire Slashing Incident

Aberdeen, WA - Sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, Seventeen vehicles had multiple tires slashed in downtown Aberdeen. Aberdeen Police Captain John Green tells us the vehicles were parked on West 1st street between Park and Division streets. Montesano Sisters Arrested for Vehicular Assault After Elma Incident

Elma, WA - Two sisters from Montesano have been arrested for assault with a motor vehicle. The incident reportedly occured Wednesday on the Monte-Elma road where a 15 year old Elma High School jogger was struck by a bright red passenger car, which then turned around and attempted to hit her again. Detectives with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s office, along with the assistance from the Montesano Police Department, followed up on a number of tips that led to the arrest of two teenage female students from Montesano Friday Afternoon. The suspects acknowledged their involvement in the assault, and were booked into the Grays Harbor County Juvenile Facility for Assault 2nd Degree.

Flu vaccine arrived in our state earlier this year than ever before and more is expected to be available this season than in the past. This year the vaccine is recommended for everyone age 6 months and older. It protects against three strains of flu — including the H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season, especially among children and young adults.

Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and your community from the flu. Flu is a serious disease. It causes thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations in our country each year. Everyone can do their part by getting vaccinated.

“The most important step to prevent the spread of flu is to get vaccinated each season,” says Secretary of Health Mary Selecky. “Even healthy kids and adults can get very sick. They can spread it to their family, friends and people in the community.”
