Hoquiam, WA - The city of Hoquiam accepted the Hoquiam Train Depot onto the Registry of Historic Places. City Councilman Byran Hyde said now they just need one thing, their caboose.

Mayor Jack Durney said to his knowledge the caboose is being painted, he then thanked all those involved for helping to make the train depot a reality. "I would remind people to go over Tuesday through Saturday, and go take a look at our train station, it is a remarkable restoration, it's the conclusion of a 20 year process, with many volunteers, it's a great addition"

The train depot was donated to the city of Hoquiam by Burlington Railroad in 1992, the 1.2 million dollar restoration project was funded mostly through grants from the Federal Highway Department.
