Hoquiam, WA - Eyes in the Woods, an organization training volunteers to assist natural resource-based agencies and landowners, will be hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009. Doors open at 6 PM, meeting from 6:30 to 8:00 at the PUD Nichols Building, on Sumner. Ave., Hoquiam.
Similar to "Neighborhood Watch" the meeting will teach citizens to learn CORT (Crime Observation and Report Training) by observing crimes and reporting violations to officials.
The U.S. Forest Service at Quinault has been planning to close access off to gravel bars on the Humptulips River due to littering. Citizens taking ownership of these lands they enjoy can keep these accesses open by joining "Eyes in the Woods".
