Posted by David Haviland on August 19, 2009 at 12:00 pm (1491 social interactions)

The Westport Shipyard evacuated their Westport Structures this morning, due to a bomb threat

The Hoquiam Office confirms the the Wesport office sent most of the employees home for the day, some administrative staff remained until the threat was assessed by the Westport police department.

Chief William Gibson told us "all the buildings have been gone through, nothing was found, at this point it doesn't appear to be a credible report... you take these things seriously"

The Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad was notifiedshortly after the bomb threat was discovered this morning, written on one of the stalls in a men's restroom.

The Hoquiam Shipyard remains open on their regular schedule, the Westport yard will remain closed overnight.
