Teen dead, Fish & Wildlife officer and two others injured in collision

OLYMPIA - A teenage girl is dead, and a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officer and two teenage boys were injured, after a two-car collision Wednesday evening near Burlington in Skagit County.

Alyssa Fell, 15, of Ferndale, died at the scene, and Fish and Wildlife Officer Jeffrey B. Lee, 56, of Bow was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following the collision, which occurred about 11 p.m., five miles east of Burlington.  Donovan M. Brogan, 18, and Patrick D. Gregory, 15, both of Bellingham, were transported to Skagit Valley Hospital, where they were treated and released. Fell was a passenger in the car driven by Brogan.

According to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) report, a Volvo in which the three teenagers were riding failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Josh Wilson Road and Farm To Market Road. Their car then collided with Lee’s vehicle, a state-issued Ford F-150 truck. WSP investigators found no evidence that drugs or alcohol were factors in this crash.

Lee, a retired Washington State Patrol sergeant who has been employed with WDFW for seven years, was on duty at the time of the accident. He is listed in satisfactory condition at Harborview.
