Ocean Shores, WA - A 44-year old Ocean Shores man is in custody on charges of residential burglary after he was caught fleeing from a home in the 100 block of Chance ala Mer. Deputy Chief Russ Fitts tells us officers received the report of the burglary around 9:30 yesterday morning when a witness saw a man trying to break out a window to the residence of a 95-year-old neighbor. Officers arrived and could see the suspect through the broken window. Seeing the officers, the suspect ran past the elderly woman watching television in her front room and out the front door. Fitts said the woman is extremely hard of hearing and was unaware that the suspect was even in her home.
Officers caught up to the suspect and took him into custody nearby, he was booked in to Grays Harbor County Jail.
