The Aberdeen Rotary Club is holding its 434d Annual Auction on Saturday, March 23rd at the Grays Harbor College HUB in Aberdeen. The annual auction is Rotary’s primary fundraising activity of the year and the proceeds fund the Aberdeen Rotary Club Foundation for scholarships, grants and youth activities.
The evening begins with a no host cocktail hour and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. with the live auction following. This year’s auctioneer is LeRoy Tipton. Some of the live auction items include a 60” LG plasma HD tv, a Lenovo 4GB RAM with 20” touch screen and two hours of tech help, a Seattle package that includes tickets to a play at the 5th Avenue Theatre and a sunset sailboat cruise on Lake Union, front row seats to Fela at the Paramount Theatre, original pieces from local artists, charter boat fishing, yacht cruises, and much, much more.
The event is open to the public and tickets, which are $50 per guest, may be reserved by calling 580-4720.

Funds raised by the auction are distributed by the Aberdeen Rotary Club Foundation to local scholarship opportunities for students, community needs such as United Way and YMCA, sponsorship of Aberdeen Rotary Business Week at Aberdeen High School, the Aberdeen Rotary Homeless Youth Education Fund, annual distribution of dictionaries to fourth graders in all Aberdeen and Cosmopolis elementary schools. It is part of Rotary International, the international organization of more than 32,000 Rotary Clubs in nearly 170 countries. Rotary clubs exist to improve communities locally and around the world and also encourage high ethical standards in business and professions.
