City of Hoquiam Details Westway Terminal Expansion Proposal

Posted by David Haviland on March 15, 2013 at 8:20 am (389 social interactions)

HOQUIAM, Wash. - The City of Hoquiam and the Washington Department of Ecology have agreed to act as Co-lead Agencies for the environmental review of the Westway Terminal Tank Farm Expansion Project proposal. The City of Hoquiam is the nominal lead for the SEPA review process.

Westway Terminal Company LLC proposes to expand its existing  bulk liquid storage terminal to allow for the receipt of crude oil unit trains, storage of crude oil  from these trains, and outbound shipment of crude oil by vessel and/or barge. The project would  be located on leased property owned by the Port of Grays Harbor.

The Co-lead Agencies for this proposal have determined that it will not have probable significant impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030 (2)(c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the City of Hoquiam. This information is available to the public on request.
