Former Aberdeen Band Director Passes Away

Olympia, WA - Former Aberdeen High School Band Director Scott Pierson has passed away. District officials notified parents of Olympia High School students yesterday. District spokeswoman Rebecca Japhet said they did not know exact details of Pierson's passing but wanted to let students know that counselors would be available today.
Rodney "Scott" Pierson was the school's Band Director since 2001, he was also part of the music program at several elementaries in Olympia.
Last summer Pierson conducted a live pit orchestra at a surprise musical tribute to honor retiring Aberdeen choir director Pat Wilhelms at the AHS Auditorium.
