Hoquiam, WA - An Aberdeen woman bit off more than she could chew this week, after allegedly shoplifting beer then literally biting the store clerk that chased after her. Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers tells us on Tuesday officers responded to a business in the 200 block of K Street for a report of a shoplifting incident where the business clerk was assaulted. During the investigation the clerk told officers a female came into the store and ran out with 4 cans of beer. The clerk said he gave chase and caught up to the female a short distance from the store. The clerk grabbed the suspect, an 18-year old Aberdeen woman. The suspect bit the clerk’s hand at which time the clerk let go of the suspect. The suspect fled through a nearby yard. Officers received a witness report of the possible location of the suspect in the 300 block of K Street. The resident was contacted who confirmed the female had been in the house but had left through the back door just before police arrived.

Officers located an address for the suspect in Aberdeen and located her there a short time later. The female was arrested for Robbery and booked into the county jail.

The store clerk sustained an injury to his hand from being allegedly bitten by the suspect during the incident. The clerk was treated by HFD Paramedics at the scene.
