Amanda Park, WA - New dates have been added to a series of workshops being held by the National Parks System to build a stewardship plan for the Olympic Wilderness.

Sarah Creachbaum, Superintendent of the Olympic National Park said the workshops will focus on Ninety-five percent of the Olympic National Park that was designated as wilderness in 1988, and is part of the National Wilderness Preservation System.

Eight public workshops are scheduled throughout the state, with the meeting in Amanda Park moved to the Lake Quinault School gymnasium from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 6130 US Hwy 101.

Three Additional Workshops are also being added. Two dates in March for Aberdeen and Olympia are still to be determined. A Port Townsend public meeting is scheduled for February 27th.

Creachbaum said these are 2 hour open house meetings - NO sit down presentation - between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Park staff will be available to answer questions and record comments.
