Montesano City Council Goes Paperless With iPads

Montesano, WA - The Montesano City Council this week went paperless, Mayor Ken Estes told his council at their regular meeting "Tonight ladies and gentlemen we've reached a small milestone in the city's history. We begin the process of fully electronic public records."
All seven councilmembers were issued an iPad or iPad mini of their choice for city-related business "the council packets are now delivered to the council in electronic form. City policy mandates that everything on our tablets is subject to public records requests."
Information packets, that can consist of several pages depending on the meeting's agenda, are now delivered to the councilmembers' iPads prior to the meeting. City Administrator Kristy Powell said the iPads follow the council seats, and will be issued to future members as city property.
