Fatality Collision Closes Highway 12 Overnight

MALONE, Wash. - One person is dead, one hospitalized, another is in police custody after a head on collision last night in Grays Harbor. Trooper Russ Winger with the Washington State Patrol tells us just after midnight a car crossed the center line on the Mox-Chehalis bridge and collided with an oncoming truck. The driver of the car was arrested for Driving under the influence, and is being held on additional charges of vehicular homicide.
The driver of the truck was transported to St Peters hospital with undisclosed injuries, their passenger died while being airlifted from another hospital to Harborview Medical Center. Winger said no names are being released yet, the accident happened just after midnight and closed Highway 12 in both directions near Malone until 3:30 this morning while State Patrol investigated.
