Lowland Snow Possible Into The Weekend

SYNOPSIS: A progressively cooler air mass will gradually spread into western Washington this afternoon through tonight, causing snow levels to fall to near sea level by early Thursday morning. A showery onshore-flow pattern will prevail this evening, then a weak disturbance will move southeast near the coast late tonight.

Coast and Southwest Interior: A mix of rain and snow showers will occur through early this evening from Olympia south through Lewis Counties, and also along the Pacific coast, but air temperatures above 35 degrees should prevent more than brief localized slushy accumulations. By late this evening, a weak disturbance will move down the coast, bringing more widespread precipitation from 9 PM through 5 AM. With a cooler air mass overnight, 0 to 2 inches of snow are possible. Heavier amounts will occur at elevations above 300 feet; near-zero amounts are most likely within 5 miles of the coast and Grays Harbor.
