High Wind Warning Tonight Into Tuesday for Pacific County

South Bend, WA – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland has issued a high wind warning which is in effect from 12:00 a.m. tonight to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday for the South Washington and North and Central Oregon Coasts.

  • · South winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph are expected near beaches and headlands.
  • · Coastal communities can expect south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 45-55 mph.
  • · Winds will peak early Tuesday between 2:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • · Broken tree limbs and power outages are possible on Tuesday morning.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:

A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
