Childrens Advocacy Group Offers Free Training For Volunteers

Posted by David Haviland on November 26, 2012 at 8:05 am (346 social interactions)

Aberdeen, WA - The Grays Harbor Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is offering a free 32 hour Core training. If you are a community member who wants to make a difference in the life of a child, then volunteering as a CASA is your opportunity. The CASA Program is located at the South Shore Mall in Aberdeen. Grays Harbor has one of the highest rates of children removed from their homes in this state due to abuse and neglect. These children need advocates to represent their best interests. CASA Volunteers visit the child on their case once a month and make recommendations to the court regarding the child's needs/wishes. The volunteers receive ongoing training and support from the Program Managers. Please take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child and give back to your community. If you are interested, please contact Rae or Suzie at 360.612.3273. All applicants must be able to pass a WA State Patrol and FBI Background check.
