McCleary Man Arrested in Investigation of Escaped Inmate

McCleary, WA - Grays Harbor County investigators have made an arrest in the search for escaped inmate Brandon Musto, who remains at large.
Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate tells us investigators determined that a 59 year old McCleary Resident may have assisted with the escape of Musto from the area of the Washington State Reformatory in Monroe.
Early this morning at approximately 4:00 am, Deputies with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department located the McCleary resident in the area of McConkey Road (McCleary). He was subsequently arrested for Rendering Criminal Assistance. A vehicle was also impounded however Musto was not at the location.

MustoPlease see the attached picture of Brandon J. Musto He is 37 years of age, 5’ 08” tall, 180 pounds, medium build, brown eyes, black hair, with tattoos on his right arm. It is unknown if Musto is in Grays Harbor County. Anyone with information is asked to call the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department.

The Department of Corrections says 37-year-old Brandon Musto was missing at the 9 p.m. Wednesday count. Musto was serving time for vehicular assault in Thurston County and was scheduled for release in February.

Only offenders who are within four years of release are kept in the minimum security unit. It's one of five units at the Monroe complex and holds about 460 of the 2,500 offenders in the state's second-largest prison.
