Some Stolen Fire Gear Recovered, One Suspect Arrested, Another Sought

Ocean Shores, WA - A 39 year old Ocean Shores man faces burglary charges after tipsters led investigators to equipment stolen from the Fire District #16 station in Copalis Crossing. The Grays Harbor County Sheriff's department tells us Detective Darrin Wallace with the Sheriff’s Department was assigned the case and ended up developing enough information to conduct search warrants at two locations in Ocean Shores. With the assistance of Ocean Shores PD and additional deputies, Detective Wallace was able to locate numerous items that had been stolen from the fire station. Those items included protective gear for the firemen and communication equipment.
Investigators were able to locate a suspect of the burglary. A 39 year old Ocean Shores man was taken into custody and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for Burglary. He was also booked on additional charges of Possession of Stolen property for an unrelated investigation that Ocean Shores PD conducted. Detectives will be seeking an arrest warrant for a second suspect in this case.
Back on October 25th, a report had been received concerning a break-in that occurred at Grays Harbor Fire District #16 Station 82 on Powell Road of Hoquiam. Within a few days, the sheriff’s department received a tip from a citizen concerning this investigation.
