Scott currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Tulare County Library in Visalia, California which serves 432,000 residents of Tulare County through 15 branches. Scott is Chair of the Electronic Resources Committee for the San Joaquin Valley Library System, a consortium of 13 library systems. As Deputy Director Scott established the library’s e-book collection, increased circulation 20% in one year through creative space design and marketing efforts and introduced a new website focusing on self-service features. Scott served as President of the Pinal County Library Federation from 2005-2009, which included 13 libraries and 60 staff. “One of the most important lessons that I have learned is the power of community. It’s vitally important that a library demonstrates that it genuinely cares about the people it serves. Whether it’s building new libraries with state of the art technology, renovating existing libraries or providing bookmachines to people in locations where no service is nearby, responsive leadership has been central to my career.”
