The Hoquiam City Council last night reviewed, and then tabled, a new chapter to the cities Public Records policy that Attorney Steve Johnson said mirrors the Counties policies, in the attached audio.

Johnson said it also names the three primary records officers for public records request, the cities finance director, fire chief, and police chief.

One of the bigger changes to the policy is a 15 cent per-page charge for any copies requested of public records, which city administrator noted was less than the county charged. No charge is assessed for access to public records at the city, fire, or police departments, however copies of any information would incurr a 15 cent per-page fee.
Councilman Greg Grun noted how quickly this chapter had appeared, and requested that the council table the issue until the next meeting so that they could have more time to go over the changes.
